Circulation / Reserve Desk
  • Must have your MWSU ID to check out materials.
  • Circulating items can be checked out for 3 weeks and renewed once.
  • Reserve items are for library use only.

Interlibrary Loan
  • Students can request books and journal articles from other libraries.
  • Lending periods vary but average 3 weeks.
  • Pick up forms at the reference desk or use the online form  at:

Copiers: Both Floors
  • Copies are $.10 per page.
  • You can purchase copy cards at the circulation desk.
  • Ask at the circulation desk or information desk for any copier assistance.

Newspapers Area
  • Newspapers are for In Library Use Only.
  • Some titles are available in electronic or microfilm format.
  • Organized in alphabetical order.

Reference Computers Areas
  • Access to the Library Catalog.
  • Access to Electronic Databases.
  • Access to the Internet.
  • Priority of use is for research.
  • The reference desk and librarians’ offices are nearby.

Reference Desk
  • Don’t be afraid to ask a reference librarian for help.
  • Librarians are available until 9:00 P.M.

Ready Reference Shelves
  • Directly behind the reference desk.
  • Heavily used items are shelved here.
  • Includes: Book Review Digest, Book Review Index, Contemporary Authors, MLA Handbook, Directory of American Scholars and the APA Handbook, and several encyclopedias.

Reference Collection
  • Uses the Library of Congress Classification system.
  • Reference materials are for In Library Use Only.
  • After using the books, place them on the carts that are located throughout the area.

Group Study Rooms
(LRC 223, 303, 304, 311, 312)
  • There is 1 group study room on the 2nd floor and 4 on the 3rd floor.
  • Can be used by individuals or groups.
  • Groups have priority over individuals.
  • Can not be reserved.

Current Periodicals
(newspapers, magazines, and journals)
  • The most current issue is on the outside shelf. Other issues from the current year are underneath the shelf.
  • These materials are for In Library Use Only.

Student Lounge
  • The student lounge is the only place in the library where food and drink are allowed.
  • Snack and Soda machines are available.

Computer Lab
  • There are 20 PCs in this lab.
  • A scanner is available.
  • Closed during the summer semester and session breaks.
  • Login using  your MWSU GoldLink username and password.
  • Lab consultants are available to assist you.

Stacks
  • Library of Congress Classification System
  • A to Z
  • Stacks materials  circulate for 3 weeks

Microfilm/ Audiovisual Room (Records, VCRS, DVD Players, Microfilm Readers)
  • Use this room to find and print items that are in microfilm format.
  • Use this room to view videos and DVDs.
  • Use this room to listen to audios and CDs.
  • Musical records are located in this room.
  • Ask at the information desk for assistance.

Bound Periodicals
  • Normally the issues from years other than the current are located here.
  • These items are for In Library Use Only.
  • The periodical titles are organized in alphabetical order.

Library Instruction Room (LRC 301)
  • Used for library instruction classes.
  • The room has a video projector for demonstrations and computers for hands-on instruction.
  • A printer is available.

  • Access to a  voice activated computer.
  • Students can dictate homework and answers to essay exams.
  • Students can convert text into audio.

Small Study Rooms
  • These are designed for 1 user.
  • Please be sure to turn off the desk lights before leaving the room.

Information Desk
  • This desk is staffed by student workers and 3rd floor supervisors.
  • These staff members can assist you with locating materials and using the equipment on this floor.
  • The desk clerk might be re-shelving books or helping someone with the copiers.
