SciFinder SCHOLAR

CLIENT DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS

SciFinder Scholar is a client based product, which must be downloaded to your individual pc.

The following instructions are for running the SciFinder Scholar installation and for imbedding the file which contains the userid/password which will allow you to open SciFinder Scholar without having to enter a userid/password each time you open it.

INSTALLING SciFinder Scholar

• On the O Drive
• Open the Library Folder
• Open the SciFinder Scholar Folder
•  Double click on this icon (Sfs2007.exe)to run the installation
• During the installation:
• Answer “No” to “Do you have a site prf disk?”
• Question: “Do you want to install the SciFinder Scholar toolbar?” This is optional.  It will install an additional toolbar to your browser (similar to adding a Google toolbar)
• Once SciFinder Scholar is installed, you can copy the (SciFinder Scholar.lnk)

icon to your desktop.

Embedding the userid/password file

• My computer
• Find C:\SFSCHLR

• On the O Drive
• Open the Library Folder
• Open the SciFinder Scholar Folder
• Copy the  file to C:\SFSCHLR

You should now be able to open SciFinder Scholar and begin searching.
